‍Site visit A - Kaupanes Hydrogen (Egersund) (limited capacity)

‍When: September 12, 2025
What: The Kaupanes Hydrogen plant in Egersund began operations in February 2024, producing 0.4 tonn of green hydrogen daily through water electrolysis powered by renewable energy. It serves sectors such as transport, industry, and maritime, and is part of the EU-funded ROBINSON project aimed at developing integrated energy systems. An expansion project is underway to increase production to 20 MW, targeting production of 8 tonnes of hydrogen per day by 2027. This scale-up aims to support maritime decarbonization and enhance grid flexibility.

Site visit B - NORCE Technology Park Risavika (Sola)

‍When: September 12, 2025
What: NORCE Technology Park Risavika is a 14,000 m² industrial complex in Sola Municipality focused on testing and scaling up green technologies. It specializes in industrial biotechnology, CO₂ capture and hydrogen production, hosting projects like ColdSpark, Gas2Feed and the Risavika Hydrogen Hub to develop sustainable solutions for maritime and industrial sectors.
